First Day of Kindergarten!!

The first day of kindergarten was filled with excitement and fear. Excitement from Ethan and fear from me. The first pictures are from Meet the Teacher Night. The last two are from the first day before we left the house. I took some very adorable pictures in the car on the way to the school, but they were on my phone and my phone broke before I took the pictures off. Needless to say I was very upset when I realized these pictures were gone forever. So this is all I have :(

On the first day, he walked into the school and to his classroom all by himself. So at Meet the Teacher Night we practiced the way to his room.

Here he is, geared up and ready. He was the most adorable thing, but I was so scared for him when I saw this little boy walking through these oversized doors. Luckily he made it to where he needed to go and had a great day. He has been loving kindergarten ever since...yay!

The Happiest Place On Earth

Ever since Ethan realized what Disney was, I have promised him I would take him to Disneyland when he turned 5. So this summer (I mean hot, muggy August) my family and I took him to Disneyworld. We spent the week going to the Magic Kingdom, the Animal Kingdom, Epcot Center, and Hollywood Studios. So here are a few pictures from our very fun adventure.

We took two days and drove to Florida from Houston. As usual, we stopped and had a picnic lunch along the way.

We stood in lots of hot, crowded lines...but we endured with smiles on our faces.

Dumbo was Jeremy's favorite ride when we were kids. He would ride it over and over and over, so we figured Ethan would love it too. He was so bored...we stood in line for this ride for over an hour and he was less than thrilled. Oh, well. We had to try. He is very much a thrill seeker.

We had a blast and look forward to our next Disney adventure. Ethan can't wait until he's taller and can ride all of the roller coasters. His favorite ride was the Tower of Terror. As we were leaving the park he could barely stay awake, but he kept repeating Tower of Terror, Tower of Terror, Tower of Terror. He couldn't get enough of it, he wanted to ride it again. It was hillarious.

Turning 5 with a Barbie/Super Hero Party

One very fine day, months ago, Ethan was having a conversation with his very good friend Maxie about their birthdays and what kind of party they wanted. (For those who don't realize, Ethan and Maxie are only a day apart. Ethan's birthday is on June 2nd and Maxie's is on June 3rd. Last year they had a joint party, but this year we were going to try to do seperate ones.) So in this conversation Maxie told Ethan all about the Barbie party she was having and the Barbie cake she had already picked out. Apparantly Ethan must have been caught up in all of the excitement because he decided he wanted a Barbie party also and they were going to have it together. No matter what I tried I could not convince him otherwise, and believe me I tried everything. The thought of sending out Barbie invitations to Ethan's friends was a little mortifying for me. I kept wondering where I had gone wrong. Well, then an angel (Maxie's mom) came up with a brilliant plan. She suggested we do a half Barbie, half super hero party. At first Ethan was not going for it, but when we mentioned that everyone could have their own capes, he reluctantly came on board.

So that is how the Barbie/Super hero party came about and here are some pictures from the great event.

Doesn't Ethan look thrilled? He really did enjoy himself, but from these pictures you wouldn't know it.

Yes, that is a pink flower pinata and yes, Ethan picked it out. I tried to get him to choose the spiderman one, but he wanted the flower.

Another disclaimer: He did pick out his own outfit too. He loves his soccer socks even though it was 100 degrees and they are the thickest socks I have ever seen.

Here is the infamous Barbie cake that started the whole Barbie party.

We finally get to see the smile I love. All it took was a piece of cake.

Preschool Graduation

This is very much long overdue, but I couldn't do the first day of Kindergarten without ending preschool. So here are the pictures of Ethan's graduation.

Ethan led the pack of cuties coming in, proudly holding his flag.
Here he is getting his diploma.

Here he is, the second to last kid, with his teachers and classmates. Aren't they cute?

Such a boy with his spotting scope.

GO CYLONES!

It has been way too long since I have posted anything, so I am going to try to redeem myself.

In the spring Ethan decided to try playing soccer. He loved it! He is already signed up again for the fall. If you ask him, though, his favorite part was when they got drinks and snacks after the games. So here are a few pictures from that experience.

For the first game of the season they always have a parade. So I had to decorate my car and drive in the parade. That was quite the experience, but Ethan and I had fun doing it.

During one of his games, he ended up getting something in his eye. So he had to run off the field during the middle of it to see if I could get it, but I didn't see anything. It was just very comical seeing him running off. Probably not something I should laugh at, but you had to be there.

Here is Ethan's proud moment of getting his trophy at the end of the season. He had been looking forward to it since the first game.
